Questions

Everything worth knowing before you order.

How long until my rug arrives?

Each rug is woven on demand, so the delivery estimate under every size is door to door and covers everything: weaving, finishing and washing, transport from the mountains, export, the DHL Express flight and customs on your side. Small flatweaves arrive in about 4 to 6 weeks. A large deep pile rug can take up to 14 weeks, because there are simply more knots to tie. We send photos of your rug on the loom while you wait.

What does shipping cost?

Nothing. DHL Express with full tracking is included in every price. For American buyers the import duties are included too, so the price you see on the site is the price you pay on delivery, with nothing to settle at the door. Buyers in other countries may be charged local VAT or duties by the carrier on delivery.

Can I get an exact size?

Yes, that is the point of us. Any dimension, at the same price per square metre as the standard sizes. Send the measurements by email and you will have a quote within a day.

Can I return my rug?

A rug woven to your order is a commissioned piece, so it is a final sale under French consumer law once production starts. This is why we send photos and answer every question before you buy, and photos from the loom during weaving. If the rug arrives damaged or does not match your order, write to us with photos within 7 days and we will replace it or refund you in full.

Will it be exactly like the photo?

Almost, and that is a promise about craft, not printing. Each rug is woven by hand, so dimensions can vary by a few percent and dye lots shift slightly from batch to batch. The pattern, the palette and the quality stay true. Product photos are staged digitally; the rugs themselves are photographed from the real pieces.

Is the wool really from the Atlas?

Yes. Highland sheep wool, spun and dyed locally. Flocks that live at altitude grow a denser fleece, richer in lanolin. That is why these rugs feel the way they do and why they outlast machine made copies by decades.

How do I care for it?

Vacuum without the beater bar. Rotate the rug once or twice a year so it wears evenly. Blot spills straight away with a clean damp cloth, without rubbing. Light shedding during the first weeks is normal for real wool and settles on its own.

How does payment work?

Through Stripe, in dollars or euros depending on your language setting. Your card details never reach us. The order is confirmed by email once payment clears, and production starts within two working days.

Who is behind SEAIO?

A French founder working directly with a weaving cooperative in Imlil, in the High Atlas. No showroom, no warehouse, no reseller in between. Questions reach a person, not a service desk: alexandre@sea-io.com.
