Our rugs come from small weaving cooperatives spread across the Atlas mountains, in villages that sit high enough that most mornings the valleys below fill with cloud and the summits rise out of it like islands. The Atlas has no sea, so it made its own. Each cooperative keeps the patterns and the wool of its own valley, which is why no two of our designs feel quite alike.
Highland wool is spun by hand and woven on vertical looms by women who learned from their mothers. SEAIO is run from France by its founder, in direct contact with the weavers. No showroom, no warehouse, no middleman to pay for.
